3 Ways to Lean on Your Faith During Challenging Times

(1) Seek to learn and grow. It’s a common reaction to run away from painful experiences and emotions. But, you should know that the Lord is always by your side. You can’t avoid suffering, but you can seek to understand how it can help you grow stronger and learn from those experiences. The next time you are tested by a stressful situation, ask yourself how you can learn and grow from that experience. [Nehemiah 8:10 – Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.]

(2) Remember that He is by your side. At times, when you feel like life is more than you can bear, remind yourself that you are never alone. God will never leave you or forsake you. [Isaiah 41:10 – So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.]

(3) Lean on His teachings. Life can be difficult and full of complicated situations. But, you don’t have to go it alone. If you’re facing a difficult situation, turn to your Bible for guidance. Or, talk to a pastor or another leader in your church for help. They can likely help you make the right choices that align with your Christian values. [Romans 8:38-39 – And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.]
